| Project Description | This project focuses on the digital preservation of ancient Buddhist monasteries in the high-altitude cold deserts of Lahaul, Spiti, and Ladakh. Using high-precision 3D Terrestrial Laser Scanning (TLS), the research creates detailed structural maps of both interiors and exteriors to monitor signs of decay or structural shift. The project specifically integrates data on natural hazards—such as seismic activity and flash floods—to develop comprehensive conservation strategies for these heritage sites. This project is funded by the Science and Heritage Research Initiative (SHRI) - Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India. |
