Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) is inviting online applications for permanent recruitment to a total of 76 posts under Combined Technical Services Examination (Interview Posts) – II, with the last date for submission of applications being 20-01-2026. Age Relaxation: There is no maximum age limit for candidates belonging to SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BC (OBCM)s and BCMs, subject to the condition that the candidate should not have completed 60 years of age as on 01-07-2025 or at the time of selection / appointment.

Knowledge of Tamil: Candidates must possess adequate knowledge of Tamil. This requirement is satisfied if the candidate has studied Tamil as a language or medium at SSLC / HSC / Degree level, or has passed the Second Class Language Test (Full Test) in Tamil conducted by the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission. Candidates who do not upload proof at the time of application will be required to pass the Tamil Language Test within two years from the date of appointment, failing which they will be discharged from service.

Domicile / Nativity: The recruitment follows the Tamil Nadu Government service rules. Reservation, age concessions and community benefits are applicable only to candidates who are natives of Tamil Nadu and possess valid community / nativity certificates issued by the competent authority, wherever applicable.

Mode of Recruitment :

The selection process for the Combined Technical Services Examination (Interview Posts) – II will consist of Written Examination, Certificate Verification, and Interview.

Written Examination

The Written Examination will be conducted as a Computer Based Test (CBT) and will consist of two papers.

Part A (Tamil Eligibility Test) of Paper I will be qualifying in nature. Paper II and Parts B and C of Paper I will be evaluated only if the candidate secures a minimum of 40% (60 marks) in Part A. The questions in Part B and Part C of Paper I will be set both in English and Tamil.

Exam will be held in Chennai, Madurai, Coimbatore, Tirunelveli, Tiruchirappalli cities.

Onscreen Certificate Verification

Candidates will be admitted to the Onscreen Certificate Verification based on the marks obtained in the Written Examination and subject to the rule of reservation. The admission ratio will be 1:3 / 1:4 for posts not requiring experience and 1:10 for posts requiring experience.

Interview

Candidates who qualify the Onscreen Certificate Verification will be admitted to the Interview stage.

Final Selection

Final selection will be made based on the total marks obtained in the Written Examination (Part B and Part C of Paper I and Paper II) and the Interview, subject to the rule of reservation of appointments.

Fee Structure :

Applicable application fee is to be paid online. Fee structure is -

  • General / Unreserved Category: Rs 200.
  • No fee for reserved category candidates. All candidates have to pay One time registration Fee of Rs 150 though, if applying for TNPSC Exams for the first time.

How to Apply :

Candidates are required to apply online by following the steps given below.

  1. Complete One Time Registration by paying a registration fee of ₹150, which will remain valid for five years.
  2. Login using the One Time Registration credentials and select the Combined Technical Services Examination (Interview Posts) – II application.
  3. Fill in all required personal, educational, technical and experience details carefully. Select the appropriate post and subject paper based on the educational qualification possessed.
  4. During One Time Registration, candidates should keep a scanned colour passport size photograph taken within the last three months, with a file size between 20 KB and 50 KB and saved as “Photograph.jpg”. A scanned signature in blue or black ink should also be kept ready, with a file size between 10 KB and 20 KB and saved as “Signature.jpg”. Both the photograph and signature must be clear, in 200 DPI resolution, and ready in digital format for uploading.
  5. Upload all required supporting documents such as educational certificates, experience certificates, community certificate, and proof of knowledge of Tamil, wherever applicable.
  6. Pay the examination fee of ₹200 online, if applicable as per category.
  7. Verify all the details carefully using the application preview option before final submission. Submit the online application on or before 20-01-2026.
  8. If required, make corrections during the Application Correction Window from 24-01-2026 to 26-01-2026.
  9. Do not send any printed copy of the application or documents to Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission at this stage.
  10. Keep a printed or saved copy of the submitted application for future reference.
