Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) has invited online applications for recruitment to 124 posts of Dental Surgeon under Odisha Medical Services (Dental) Cadre in State's Health & Family Welfare Department. Interested candidates can submit their applications through the prescribed online mode up to 17-04-2026.
Selected candidates will be responsible for providing dental healthcare services, diagnosis, treatment, and preventive dental care in government medical establishments across Odisha. It offers a stable and growth-oriented career opportunity under the Odisha State Government healthcare system.

Mode of Recruitment :
The selection of candidates will be made on the basis of a Written Test to be held tentatively on 21-06-2026, with the following structure.
- Total marks in the written test will be 200 (200 Multiple Choice Questions).
- Negative marking will be applicable and 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
- Duration of the examination will be 3 hours.
- Qualifying marks will be decided by OPSC later.
- Syllabus will be as per Dental Council of India syllabus for BDS.
- A sportsperson will have to secure the qualifying marks of his/her category for finding place in the merit list.
- The venue of the written examination will be at Cuttack or Bhubaneswar.

Notes
- After completion of the written examination, the provisional answer key will be uploaded on the website within 10 days of the examination inviting suggestions or objections from candidates. The final answer key will be prepared on the basis of the suggestions received.
- The Commission will prepare a merit list of candidates in order of merit based on the marks obtained in the written test.
- If two or more candidates secure equal marks, the following tie-breaking rules will be applied:
- The candidate securing higher marks in the BDS examination will be placed above others.
- If the marks in the BDS examination are also the same, the candidate older in age will be placed above the younger candidate.
Fee Structure :
- Candidates other than SC, ST and PwD categories must pay an examination fee of ₹700 through online modes, while submitting the Online Application Form. SC, ST and PwD categories need not pay any fee.
- The fee will be refunded only to candidates who appear in the Written Test and the amount will be credited to the original mode of payment after completion of exam.
How to Apply :
Candidates need to apply online by following the steps given below -
- Fill the prescribed online application form carefully with the required personal, educational, and other details as asked in the system-generated form.
- Verify all the entered information before final submission to ensure that accurate details are provided.
- If a candidate wants to modify any information after submission, the already submitted application must be cancelled and a fresh application should be submitted again before the last date.
- Upload scanned images of the following documents in the application form:
- Latest passport size photograph
- Full signature
- Left-hand thumb impression (LTI)
- After successful online registration, a unique Permanent Public Service Account Number (PPSAN) will be generated for the candidate. It must be noted carefully.
- Download and take a printout of the finally submitted online application form.
- Sign the printed application form and keep it safely along with copies of required certificates/documents for future use and for submission when asked by OPSC.
- At present, candidates are not required to send the printed application form to Odisha Public Service Commission.
