Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) has invited online applications for 103 permanent vacancies across various state government departments through the Jharkhand Combined Civil Services Examination 2025 (under advt 01/2026). The last date for submission of online applications is 14-02-2026. JPSC Civil Services Examination is the most prestigious and competitive exam in Jharkhand.
The recruitment covers multiple administrative and police roles, including Deputy Collector, Deputy Superintendent of Police, and Probation Officer, which involve core governance, law enforcement, and social security functions. Selected candidates will serve in a permanent capacity under the state government, with the recruitment process consisting of a Preliminary Examination, a Main Written Examination, and an Interview Test.

Mode of Recruitment :
The selection process will consist of three successive stages: Preliminary Examination, Main Written Examination, and Interviews.
Preliminary Examination
The Preliminary Examination will tentatively be held on 19-04-2026, and will serve as a screening test to shortlist candidates for the Main Examination. It will consist of two compulsory papers of objective type (Multiple Choice Questions).
The marks obtained in this stage will not be counted for the final merit list. Based on the performance in this stage, candidates numbering approximately 15 times the total number of vacancies will be shortlisted for the Main Examination. Questions will be set in Hindi and English.

Main Written Examination
Candidates who qualify the Preliminary stage will be eligible to appear for the Main Written Examination. This stage will consist of six descriptive papers. Paper-I (General Hindi & General English) will be a qualifying paper, and its marks will not be added to the merit list, provided the candidate secures the minimum qualifying marks of 30.

Minimum qualifying marks
As per Jharkhand Combined Civil Services Examination (2nd Amendment) Rules 2023, Candidates who obtain minimum qualifying marks of 40% in aggregate shall only be considered by the Commission while preparing the selection list for Main Examination and for preparing the merit list for the purpose of Interview Test. However, the minimum qualifying marks shall be relaxable as per following criteria:

Interview
Candidates who qualify the Main Written Examination will be called for the Interviews. The number of candidates called for the interview will be approximately 2.5 to 3 times the number of vacancies. The interview will carry 100 marks. The final merit list will be prepared based on the aggregate marks obtained in the Main Written Examination (Papers II to VI) and Interview.

Applicable application fee is to be paid online. Fee structure is -
- Unreserved / BC-I / BC-II / EWS Candidates: Rs. 100/- + Bank Charges
- SC / ST Candidates (Permanent Residents of Jharkhand): Rs. 50/- + Bank Charges
- PwBD Candidates (at least 40% disability): Exempted from Fee
How to Apply :
Candidates can apply for the JPSC Civil Services Exam 2025 by following the steps given below :
- Complete One Time Registration (OTR) on the Jharkhand Public Service Commission system before filling the OTR form. Only candidates registered through OTR will be allowed to submit the online application. Photograph and signature must be uploaded during the OTR process, as per the prescribed specifications.
- Candidates must keep the email ID and mobile number active during the recruitment process, that were used in OTR form.
- Ensure that all personal details, educational details and category-related information are entered correctly. Name, father’s name and spelling must exactly match with the Matric (10th Board) certificate.
- After completing the form, submit the application online within the prescribed last date (14-02-2026). Applicable fee must be paid through available online modes.
- The application will be considered finally submitted only after clicking the “Submit & Lock” option, after which no changes will be allowed in the online application.
- After final submission, candidates may log in again and download the filled application form.
- There is no requirement to send the printed application form to Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) at this stage. Candidates may keep one printed or soft copy for their own future use.
- During the interview stage, candidates will need to produce all original certificates, along with self-attested photocopies.
