Goa Staff Selection Commission is inviting online applications for the recruitment of 390 Government Primary School Teachers on a permanent basis to serve within State govt's Directorate of Education. Interested candidates must ensure they meet all eligibility compliance and residency requirements before submitting their applications through the official portal, on or before 20-02-2026.

The role involves delivering primary education in either Marathi or Konkani mediums, requiring a strong foundation in elementary education pedagogy and local language proficiency. Teachers will be responsible for fostering foundational literacy and numeracy skills among young students in recognized primary schools across the state.

AND

Must have passed Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) and possess 2 years teaching experience in recognized Primary Schools.

Knowledge of Konkani is essential

Knowledge of Marathi is desirable

Pay Level - 6 as per 7th CPC (35,400–1,12,400)

 

Initial salary will be approximately ₹49,000 per month.

  • Nature of Post: These are permanent Group 'C' posts.
  • Age Relaxation: Relaxable for Government Servants up to 5 years. Category wise Relaxation includes 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, and 10 years for PwD (up to 15 years for PwD SC/ST and 13 years for PwD OBC).
  • Other Eligibility Conditions:
    • Candidates must possess a valid 15 years residence certificate issued by the Competent authority in Goa. Knowledge of Konkani is an essential qualification for both posts.
    • Valid registration with the Employment Exchange, Goa/valid Employment registration Card is required.

Mode of Recruitment :

The selection process will consist of three stages: Computer Based Test I (CBT I), Computer Based Test II (CBT II), and a Class Demonstration. In both CBT 1 & 2, Candidates will be required to meet minimum passing marks: 45% for Unreserved categories, 40% for OBC/PwD, and 35% for SC/ST. There will be no negative marking.

Stage 1: Computer Based Test I (CBT I)

CBT I will serve as a screening and shortlisting examination. Also, Candidates must pass the Konkani language section with minimum marks (4 out of 10 for Marathi medium or 8 out of 20 for Konkani medium) to be eligible for further evaluation. The Commission will shortlist three and half (3.5) times the number of posts in each category for the next stage based on CBT I merit.

Stage 2: Computer Based Test II (CBT II)

Qualified candidates will proceed to CBT II. This stage focuses more heavily on language proficiency and methodology. After this examination, the Commission will shortlist twice the number of candidates in each category for next stage - Class Demonstration.

Stage 3: Class Demonstration

Shortlisted candidates will undergo a Class Demonstration carrying 10 marks. Candidates will be asked to demonstrate a particular concept related to the post.

Final Selection and Merit List

The final common merit list will be prepared based on the "Combined Score," which is the sum of marks obtained in CBT II and the Class Demonstration. If two or more candidates secure equal marks, the older candidate will be given precedence. A waitlist will also be prepared for each post in descending order of merit.
