Mode of Recruitment :
Selection of candidates will be carried out in two stages – a preliminary examination followed by a main examination. The preliminary exam will consist of 100 objective-type questions, carrying a total of 100 marks. The duration of the exam will be 2 hours. This stage is qualifying in nature and is intended to shortlist candidates for the main examination.
Candidates will be selected for the main examination based on their performance in the preliminary exam. The details regarding the main examination, including its structure and syllabus, will be communicated to shortlisted candidates through their admit cards in due course. Candidates are advised to regularly check for updates and prepare accordingly.
Fee Structure :
Application fees is Rs 135/- for SC/ST/PwD/ Female candidates of Bihar State and Rs 540/- for other candidates. Fees should be paid online using debit card, credit card, net banking.

Mode of Recruitment :
As per the Bihar Staff Selection Commission Examination Conduct Rules, 2010, a preliminary examination will be held if more than 40,000 applications are received. Depending on the number of applications, the exam may be conducted in multiple phases.
The preliminary examination will be conducted in objective format. Based on preliminary examination marks candidates will be shortlisted for the main examination. The final selection will be made based on performance in the main examination.
The prescribed exam syllabus is as :
Preliminary Examination
The preliminary exam will have a single paper covering general knowledge, with the given topics:
- General Studies
- General Science and Mathematics
- Mental Ability Test (Comprehension / Logic / Reasoning / Mental Ability)
The questions will be objective and multiple-choice. There will be a total of 150 questions. Each correct answer will be awarded 4 marks, and 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer. The exam duration will be 2 hours and 15 minutes.
Main Examination
The main examination will have two papers:

Hindi (qualifying in nature): Candidates must score at least 30 percent marks. Only those who score 30 percent or more will have their second paper evaluated.

- Mental Ability Test (Comprehension / Logic / Reasoning / Mental Ability)

The selection process will include a written examination of one hundred fifty marks followed by an interview of fifty marks. The final merit will be prepared out of a total of two hundred marks.
