- Maharashtra Government approved Nanaji Deshmukh Krishi Sanjivani Yojna in January 2018, to be implemented between 2018-19 to 2023-24 with budget of INR 4000 crores. 70% of cost will be borne by World Bank while state will contribute 30% over six years.
- It aims at promoting climate-resilient agriculture and will be implemented in 5,142 villages across 15 districts. Its objectives are to improve soil quality, develop foodgrain varieties which can sustain climate variations and effect necessary changes in the crop pattern as per the availability of water in a particular region.
- It is named after social activist Nanaji Deshmukh who as worked in fields of education, health, and rural self-reliance, and is honoured with Padma Vibhushan.
- Main objectives can be summarized as -

- Eliminate ground water salinity problems.
- Improve conditions of agricultural yields to overcome climatic changes.
- Promoting quality of soil.
- Cultivate new variety of grains that will more sustainable and adaptable to climatic changes.
- Make state drought free.
