Chhattisgarh Government approved Deendayal Upadhyay Shram Anna Sahayata Yojna in September 2017. Under this scheme nutritious meal for Rs 5 will be provided to labourers in the state.
Under this, 60 food centers will be set up step by step in 27 districts of the states which will cater to at least 60,000 labourers on a regular basis. First Shram Anna Sahayata centre was inaugurated in Telibandha area. Each centre will cost approx 20 Lakhs.
Workers can either have meal at facility or get it packed in tiffins, between 8 am to 10 am.
Social service organisations will be roped in to operate these centres and it will be supervised by officials of labour department.
Girls and women from engaged in rag picking will be given skill development training in varied disciplines including stitching, cooking and others in the skill dveelopment centre in the premises.
