Free Surgery Scheme | July 2017 | Delhi government announced this scheme to provide free surgery at private hospitals if patient don’t get response for a surgery at a govt. hospital within 1 month. For this, Delhi govt tied up with 48 hospitals to facilitate 30 surgeries free of charge for patient referred by govt. hospitals in Delhi, Gurugram, Faridabad and Noida. |

Indira Canteen Scheme | August 2017 | Karnataka government launched ‘Indira Canteen’ in Bengaluru with an aim to reach out to the poorer sections of society. Canteens offer breakfast at Rs 5 and lunch and dinner at Rs 10 per plate. Of a total of proposed 198 canteens, 101 were launched on August 16, 2017 and rest started functioning from October 2, 2017. State government later decided to set up Indira Canteen in all taluk and district headquarters and provide subsidised food from January 1, 2018. |
