    5. Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying (DAHD) launched One Health Pilot project in Karnataka, which DAHD is executing to bring stakeholders from animal, human and environment health on a common platform.         1. Government of India provides Take Home Ration under Supplementary Nutrition component of Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) to fill the gap in nutrition among children and pregnant and lactating women.
      3. NITI Aayog launched report India's Booming Gig and Platform Economy, as a first-of-its-kind study that presents comprehensive perspectives and recommendations on gig–platform economy in India, along with a scientific methodological approach to estimate current size and job-generation potential of the sector.
      4. ​India hosted ASEAN Foreign Ministers for a Special ASEAN-India Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in New Delhi, to commemorate 30 years of ASEAN-India Dialogue Relations.
      5. Former McDonald's restaurants in Russia have been renamed Vkusno i tochka, meaning Delicious. Full Stop. Russian businessman Alexander Govor, who held license of Mcdonald's since 2015, bought all 850 Mcdonald's restaurants in Russia after American company announced its withdrawal from Russia in May 2022.
      6. Sao Joao festival has been observed in Goa, after a two-year coronavirus-induced gap. The festival is dedicated to Saint John the Baptist, who baptised Lord Jesus on the river of Jordan, and is celebrated at the onset of monsoon.
      7. Transport minister Nitin Gadkari approved Draft GSR Notification to introduce Bharat NCAP (New Car Assessment Program), wherein automobiles shall be accorded Star Ratings based upon their performance in Crash Tests.

        1. During his visit, India and EU formally re-launched India-EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA) negotiations.
        2. Besides, negotiations were also launched for a stand-alone Investment Protection Agreement (IPA) and a Geographical Indicators (GIs) Agreement.
    8. June 30 is observed annually as International Asteroid Day. It marks event anniversary of Tunguska event in 1908, when an asteroid leveled about 2,150 square kilometres forest in Siberia.
      1. June 30 is also observed as UN International Day of Parliamentarism, proclaimed in 2018.

      1. Labour & Employment Minister Bhupender Yadav visited Geneva (Switzerland), to attend Plenary Session of 110th International Labour Conference (ILC) and World Of Work Summit.
      2. Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal visited Belgium. He inaugurated a Mango Festival in Brussels, to promote Indian mangoes in Europe.
      3. Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu Visited Qatar (Middle East) and African nations Senegal & Gabon. Mr Naidu is first Indian Vice President to visit these nations.

          1. Announced special training programme for a batch of 20 Gabonese diplomats at Sushma Swaraj Institute of Foreign Services.
        2. Senegal -
          1. This is first ever high level Indian visit to Senegal.
          2. India-Senegal signed 3 MoUs for cultural exchange, cooperation in youth matters and visa free regime for officials.
          3. Announced Phase II of upgradation of Entrepreneurial Training & Development Centre (CEDT) at Senegal Capital Dakar. CEDT  was set up in Dakar in 2002 under Indian assistance and every year over 1000 youth, from 20 African nations (mainly from Senegal), get trained in 6 different disciplines at the Centre.

          1. Launched India-Qatar Start Up bridge, that aims to link start-up ecosystems of the two countries.
      4. PM Narendra Modi Visited Germany and UAE -
        1. Attended G7 Summit held under German Presidency, on special Invitation by Germany. G7 Grouping consists of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, UK and USA.
      5. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh Visited Vietnam -
        1. Signed Joint Vision Statement on India-Vietnam Defence Partnership towards 2030, to enhance defence cooperation.
        2. MOU signed on Mutual Logistics Support, as first such major Logistics agreement Vietnam has signed with any country.
        3. Handed over 12 High Speed Guard Boats to Vietnam, constructed under India’s $US 100 million Defence Line of Credit to Vietnam. Initial 5 boats were built in Larsen & Toubro (L&T) Shipyard in India and other seven in Hong Ha Shipyard.
    10. PM Narendra Modi inaugurated Raising & Accelerating MSME Performance scheme, with outlay of 6000 crores.
      1. Also inaugurated ‘Capacity Building of First-Time MSME Exporters’ scheme and new features of ‘Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme’.
      2. Raising & Accelerating MSME Performance Scheme (RAMP) aims to scale up capacity and coverage of MSME in the states, with an impact on enhancement of exiting MSME schemes. RAMP will complement Aatmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan by fostering innovation, incubating new business and entrepreneurship.
    11. Maharashtra Cabinet approved changing names for 2 districts - Aurangabad and Osmanabad to Sambhaji Nagar and Dharashiv respectively.
      1. Navi Mumbai airport’s name will also be changed to DB Patil International Airport.
    12. 2022 NATO Summit held in Madrid (Spain), bringing together 30 NATO member nations from Europe and North America.
      1. Japan and South Korea Attended NATO Summit 2022, as their first NATO Summit.

    2. Cabinet Approvals (June 29, 2022) -
      1. MOUs -
        1. Singapore - Cooperation in fields of Science, Technology and Innovation.
      2. General -
        1. Apprised of a Strategic Partnership Agreement between Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (India) and International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), signed in January 2022. It aims to boost green energy transitions based on renewable energy in India, to help achieve 500 GW installed non-fossil fuel electricity capacity in India by 2030.
        2. Approved categorization of Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI) as an International Organization and signing of Headquarters Agreement (HQA) with CDRI for granting it exemptions, immunities and privileges as contemplated under United Nations (Privileges & Immunities) Act 1947.
          1. It will provide CDRI an independent and international legal persona, so that it can efficiently and effectively carry out its functions internationally.
          2. Since its launch by PM Narendra Modi during UN Climate Action Summit in September 2019 at New York, 31 Countries, 06 International Organizations and 2 private sector organizations have joined CDRI.
          3. CDRI is second major global initiative launched by India (After International Solar Alliance). It aims to promote resilience of infrastructure systems to climate and disaster risks, thereby ensuring sustainable development.
      3. CCEA Approvals -
        1. Approved Deregulation of Sale of Domestically Produced Crude Oil, whereby Government has decided to cease allocation of crude oil and condensate w.e.f. 01.10.2022. This will ensure marketing freedom for all Exploration and Production (E&P) operators.
          1. Condition in Production Sharing Contracts (PSCs) to sell crude oil to Government / Government Companies shall be waived off, freeing E&P companies to sell crude oil from their fields in domestic market.
        2. Approved Computerization of Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) with objective of increasing efficiency of PACS, bringing transparency and accountability in their operations.
          1. It proposes computerization of about 63,000 functional PACS over 5 years, with outlay of 2516 crores (Government share of 1528 crores).
          2. PACS constitute lowest tier of three-tier Short-term cooperative credit in country, comprising of approx 13 Crore farmers as its members, which is crucial for development of rural economy.
          3. PACS account for 41 % (3 Cr. farmers) of KCC (Kisan Credit Card) loans given by all entities in Country and 95 % of these KCC loans through PACS are to Small and Marginal farmers.
            1. Other two tiers - Cooperative Banks (StCBs) and District Central Cooperative Banks (DCCBs) have already been automated by NABARD and brought on Common Banking Software (CBS).
          4. The project comprises of development of cloud based common software with cyber security and data storage, providing hardware support to PACS, digitization of existing records including maintenance support and training.
    3. US, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and UK launched a new initiative called Partners in the Blue Pacific, for more effective cooperation with region’s small island nations, in response to China’s aggressive push to expand its sphere of influence in Pacific.
    4. NASA Launhed CAPSTONE (Cislunar Autonomous Positioning System Technology Operations and Navigation Experiment) lunar orbiter Mission, that will test and verify calculated orbital stability planned for Lunar Gateway space station. It was launched by Rocket Lab, from New Zealand.
      1. Reason for Launching CAPSTONE -
        1. For Artemis, NASA’s program to send astronauts back to moon, NASA decided to include Gateway, a small space station around moon. It would make it easier for astronauts to reach more parts of moon. This outpost is to be placed in what is known as a near-rectilinear halo orbit.
        2. Halo orbits are influenced by gravity of two bodies - in this case, Earth and moon. Influence of two bodies makes orbit highly stable, minimizing amount of propellant needed.
        3. No spacecraft has ever traveled in this orbit. CAPSTONE will provide data to confirm its mathematical models for operating its Gateway outpost in a near-rectilinear halo orbit.

    1. 835 Squadron (CG), an indigenous Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) MK III squadron, has been commissioned into Indian Coast Guard.
      1. ALH MK III helicopters have been indigenously manufactured by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), featurng state-of-the-art equipment.
      2. So far, 13 ALH MK-III aircraft have been inducted in the Indian Coast Guard in phased manner, with four of these positioned at Porbandar.
      3. Also, Pay Roll Automation for Disbursement of Monthly Allowances (PADMA), an automated Pay & Allowances module for Indian Coast Guard, has been inaugurated.
    2. Keel for seventh & last ship under P17A of Indian Navy, informally named Y-12654, has been laid, to be built by Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders.
      1. Under P-17A, also called Nilgiri-class frigates, 7 projects will be built (4 by Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders & 3 by Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers).
      2. Among 4 Ships to be built by MDL, INS Nilgiri & Udaygiri have been launched, While other 2 are under construction.
      3. Among 3 Ships to be built by GRSE, INS Himgiri & Dunagiri have been launched, while 3rd ship is under construction.
    3. Global Liveability Index 2022 released by Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) -

    4. Justice Satish Chandra Sharma has been appointed as Chief Justice of Delhi High Court.
    5. Togo (West Africa) and Gabon (Central Africa) joined Commonwealth of Nations, taking number of its member nations to 56.
      1. Commonwealth of Nations, is a political association of 56 member states, vast majority of which are former territories of the British Empire.
      2. However, newest Commonwealth members, Togo and Gabon are not former British Colonies. They gained independence from France in 1960.
    6. June 28 is observed as National Insurance Awareness Day in India.

      1. On this occasion, National MSME Awards 2022 were announced -
        1. Odisha has been awarded first prize among states, followed by Bihar and Haryana, for promotion and Development of MSME Sector.
    2. Health and Family Welfare Ministry announced to launch One Nation, One Dialysis programme, under Pradhan Mantri National Dialysis Programme. Through this, any patient in India can get a dialysis facility from anywhere in country.
    3. Parameswaran Iyer has been named as new chief executive of NITI Aayog, to succeed Amitabh Kant, who term will end on June 30.
    4. S M Krishna (Former Karnataka CM), N R Narayana Murthy (Infosys founder), and Prakash Padukone (Noted former badminton player), have been selected for first edition of Kempegowda International Award instituted by Karnataka government.
      1. Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai presented the awards on June 27, to mark 513th Kempegowda Jayanti, to honour 16th century chieftain who founded city of Bengaluru. Award carries a cash prize of 5 lakh.
      2. Another similary named award, Kempegowda Award or Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Award is a civilian award presented annually by Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (Bengaluru).
    5. Nitin Gupta has been appointed as new chairman of Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT).
      1. He succeeded Sangeeta Singh, who was given additional charge as CBDT chairman, after J B Mahapatra retired as CBDT Chairman.

    2. Food delivery Firm Zomato acquired quick commerce company Blinkit for 4,447 crores in all-stock deal.
      1. Zomato’s restaurant supplies subsidiary Hyperpure will also acquire the warehousing and ancillary services business of Hands-on Trade Private Limited for 61 crores.
    3. Noted Indian tennis Player Vijay Amritraj has been named 2021 recipient of Golden Achievement Award by International Tennis Hall of Fame and International Tennis Federation. He is first recipient of this honour from India.
    4. Tata Power subsidiary Tata Power Solar commissioned India's largest floating solar power project in Kayamkulam (Kerala), on a 350-acre water body, with installed capacity of 101.6 Megawatt Peak.
      1. Also, world’s largest floating solar power plant will be built at Khandwa in Madhya Pradesh, which will generate 600 Megawatt power. It will be constructed at cost of over 3000 crore, over Omkareshwar Dam.
    5. RBI gave preliminary approval to State Bank of India for its proposed operations support subsidiary, which aims to reduce the cost-to-income ratio.

    5. South Korea launched its first satellite successfully using a homegrown rocket Nuri.
      1. Nuri (Korean meaning world ), also known as KSLV-II (Korean Space Launch Vehicle-II), is a three-stage launch vehicle, and successor to Naro-1 (KSLV-1), developed by Korea Aerospace Research Institute.

    1. PM Narendra Modi virtually attended 14th BRICS Summit hosted by China, attended by leaders from its member nations (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa).
      1. Also, Iran and Argentina have applied to join BRICS bloc.
    2. European Union leaders granted Ukraine and Moldova candidate status for EU membership.
      1. EU leaders had gathered in Brussels to formally grant Ukraine candidate status to join the European Union just as Russia continue to invade Ukraine.
      2. Process of Joining EU -
        1. First step is getting official candidate status for EU membership but this does not necessarily mean that the nation will join the EU.
        2. After getting candidate status, formal membership negotiations begin. This involves adoption of established EU law and implementation of judicial, administrative, economic and other reforms that are deemed necessary for the country to meet membership conditions, known as accession criteria.
        3. Following completion of membership negotiations and accompanying reforms to satisfaction of both sides, the country is allowed to become an EU member.
    3. Jammu and Kashmir UT will host 2023 meetings of G20 Nations.
      1. India will hold G-20 presidency from December 1, 2022, for 1 year.
      2. Earlier, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal was appointed as India's Sherpa for the G20 in September 2021.
      3. G20 countries include Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Germany, France, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, Turkey, US and UK.
    4. Anil Khanna has been appointed as acting President of Indian Olympic Association (IOA).
    5. S.S. Mundra has been appointed as Chairman of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

      1. On this occasion, Odisha's public transport service Mo Bus, has been named among winners of United Nations award, for role in promoting gender-responsive public services to achieve UN SDGs, and helping in better recovery from Covid-19.
      2. June 23 is also observed as International Olympics Day and UN International Widows' Day.
      3. June 23 is Death Anniversary of Noted politician Syama Prasad Mukherjee, who founded Bharatiya Jana Sangh (the predecessor to Bharatiya Janata Party).
    2. World Bank approved a project costing 1000 crores, to advance rain-fed agriculture in steep areas of Uttarakhand, called Uttarakhand Climate Responsive Rain-fed Farming Project.
    3. Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport became first airport in India to run entirely on hydro and solar power, towards achieving ambitious goal of becoming a Net Zero Carbon Emission Airport by 2030.
      1. This came after Delhi Airport signed a long-term power purchase agreement with a Himachal Pradesh-based hydropower producing company for supply of hydroelectricity for airport until 2036.
    4. India has been ranked fourth largest gold recycler, recycling 75 tonnes of Gold in 2021, according to World Gold Council (WGC).
      1. China topped global gold recycling chart by recycling 168 tonnes of Gold in 2021, followed by Italy (80 tonnes) and US (78 tonnes).
    5. Europe’s premier startup conference Vivatech 2020, held in Paris (France).
      1. It recognized India as country of the year.
      2. The Conference was attended by Railways and MEITY Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, on India's Behalf.

    2. ISRO's commercial arm NSIL (NewSpace India Limited) undertook launch of GSAT-24, a 24-Ku band ISRO communication satellite weighing 4180 kg with pan-India coverage for meeting DTH application needs. Launch was undertook on-board Ariane-V rocket from Kourou, French Guiana (South America).
    3. As per REN21's Renewables 2022 Global Status Report (GSR 2022) -
      1. India ranked third globally for total renewable power capacity additions with 15.4 GW in 2021, after China (136 GW) and US (43 GW).
    4. As per MFIN Micrometer Q4 FY21-22 (quarterly published by Microfinance Institutions Network) -
      1. Tamil Nadu became largest state in terms of outstanding portfolio of microfinance loans.
      2. Gross loan portfolio of Tamil Nadu as of March 31, 2022 stood at 36806 crores, followed by Bihar (35941 crore) and West Bengal (34016 crores).
    5. As per Coursera Global Skill Report 2022 -
      1. In terms of overall skills proficiency, India slipped 4 places to be ranked 68th globally and 19th in Asia.

    1. Assam become 36th State/UT to implement One Nation One Ration Card (ONORC). With this, ONORC plan has been successfully implemented in all 36 states/UTs, making food security portable throughout country.
      1. Objective to empower all NFSA beneficiaries to become AtmaNirbhar for their food security anywhere in country, through portability of their existing ration cards enabling them  to lift their entitled subsidized foodgrains from any Fair Price Shop of their choice.
    2. Highlights of PM Narendra Modi's visit to Karnataka -
      1. Mysuru-
        1. Launched Centre of Excellence for persons with communication disorder at All India Institute of Speech and Hearing (AIISH Mysuru).
        2. On occasion of Yoga day 2022 (June 21), PM participated in a Mass Yoga Demonstration at Mysore Palace ground (Mysuru), as part of novel programme Guardian Yoga Ring, a collaborative exercise between 79 countries and UN organisations along with Indian Missions abroad to illustrate Yoga's unifying power that surpasses National boundaries.

        1. Inaugurated and laid foundation stones of multiple rail and road infrastructure projects worth over 27000 crores in Bengaluru, notably including -
          1. Laid Foundation stone of Bengaluru Suburban Rail project, which will connect Bengaluru city with its suburbs and satellite townships, to be built at cost over 15700 crores, envisages 4 corridors with a total route length of over 148 Kms.
          2. Launched India’s first Air Conditioned Railway Station - Sir M Visvesvaraya Railway Station at Baiyappanahalli.
          3. Laid foundation stone of two sections of Bengaluru Ring Road project, to be developed at a cost 2280 crores, to help decongest the city. 
        2. Inaugurated Centre for Brain Research and laid foundation Stone for Bagchi Parthasarathy Multispeciality Hospital at IISc Bengaluru.
        3. Inaugurated new campus of Dr. B R Ambedkar School of Economics (BASE) University.
    3. Department of School Education and Literacy (Ministry of Education) released 1st ever Performance Grading Index for Districts (PGI-D) (starting with 2018-19 and 2019-20), to assess performance of school education system at District level by creating an index for comprehensive analysis.

          To be issued RBI on behalf of Government of India, to resident individuals, HUFs, Trusts, Universities and Charitable Institutions.

          Denomination

          The SGBs will be denominated in multiples of gram(s) of gold with a basic unit of one gram.

          Tenor

          The tenor of the SGB will be for a period of eight years with an option of premature redemption after 5th year to be exercised on the date on which interest is payable.

          Minimum size

          Minimum permissible investment will be One gram of gold.

          Maximum limit

          The maximum limit of subscription shall be 4 KG forindividual, 4 Kg for HUF and 20 Kg for trusts and as notified by Government.

          Joint holder

          In case of joint holding, the investment limit of 4 KG will be applied to the first applicant only.

          Issue price

          Price of SGB will be fixed in Indian Rupees on basis of simple average of closing price of gold of 999 purity, published by India Bullion and Jewellers Association Limited (IBJA) for last 3 working days of week preceding subscription period. Issue price will be less by Rs 50 per gram for investors who subscribe & pay online.

          Payment option

          Payment for the SGBs will be through cash payment (upto a maximum of 20000) or demand draft or cheque or electronic banking.

          Issuance form

          The SGBs will be issued as Government of India Stock under Government Securities Act, 2006. The investors will be issued a Certificate of Holding for the same. SGBs will be eligible for conversion into demat form.

          Redemption price

          The redemption price will be in Indian Rupees based on simple average of closing price of gold of 999 purity, of previous three working days published by IBJA Ltd.

          Sales channel

          SGBs will be sold through Commercial banks, Stock Holding Corporation of India Limited (SHCIL), Clearing Corporation of India Limited (CCIL), designated post offices and recognised stock exchanges.

          Interest rate

          Investors will be compensated at a fixed rate of 2.50 percent per annum payable semi-annually on nominal value.

          Collateral

          Bonds can be used as collateral for loans. The loan-to-value (LTV) ratio is to be set equal to ordinary gold loan mandated by the Reserve Bank from time to time.

          Tax treatment

          Interest on SGBs shall be taxable as per provision of Income Tax Act 1961. Capital gains tax arising on redemption of SGB to an individual is exempted. Indexation benefits will be provided to long term capital gains arising to any person on transfer of bond.

          Tradability

          SGBs shall be eligible for trading.

          SLR eligibility

          SGBs acquired by banks through invoking lien/hypothecation/pledge alone, shall be counted towards Statutory Liquidity Ratio.

          Commission

          Commission for distribution of the bond shall be paid at the rate of  one percent of the total subscription received by the receiving offices and receiving offices shall share at least 50 percent of commission with agents for business procured through them.

      1. General -
        1. Approved proposal of Department of Telecommunications to conduct spectrum auction through which spectrum will be assigned to the successful bidders for providing 5G services to public and enterprises.
          1. Total 72097.85 MHz of spectrum with a validity period of 20 years will be put to auction soon. Auction will be held for spectrum in various Low (600 MHz, 700 MHz, 800 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2100 MHz, 2300 MHz), Mid (3300 MHz) and High (26 GHz) frequency bands.
          2. Mid and High band spectrum will be utilised by Telecom Service Providers to roll-out of 5G technology-based services, capable of providing speed and capacities, which would be about 10 times higher than current 4G services.
          3. Cabinet also decided to enable development and setting up of Private Captive Networks to spur a new wave of innovations in Industry 4.0 applications such as machine to machine communications, Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI) across automotive, healthcare, agriculture, energy, and other sectors.
        2.  High Level Committee under Chairmanship of Home Minister Amit Shah approved additional Central assistance under National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) to two States, which were affected by drought during 2021-22. It includes 1004 crores to Rajasthan and 39 crores to Nagaland.

          2. Afterwards : Post period of four years, Agniveers will be released. Based on requirements, upto 25 % Ex-Agniveers from each batch will be offered an opportunity to apply for enrolment in Armed Forces.
          3. Age Limit : Eligible age will be in a range from 17.5 to 21 years. Note that For Recruitment year 2022 only, upper age limit has been kept at 23 years.
          4. Uniform : A distinctive insignia will be worn by Agniveers on their uniform during their engagement period. Agniveers will also be entitled to honours and awards, as per guidelines.

            1. Ministry of Education announced to launch a special, three year skill based bachelor degree programme, to be granted by IGNOU, for serving defence personnel that will recognize the skill training received by them during their tenure in the defence establishments.
            2. Defence Ministry approved to reserve 10% of job vacancies in Ministry of Defence for Agniveers meeting requisite eligibility criteria. 10% reservation will be implemented in the Indian Coast Guard, defence civilian posts and all the 16 Defence Public Sector Undertakings.
            3. Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) decideed to reserve 10 percent vacancies for recruitment in CAPFs and Assam Rifles for Agniveers, completing four years under Agnipath Scheme.
            4. MHA also decided to give 3 years age relaxation beyond prescribed upper age limit to Agniveers for recruitment in CAPFs & Assam Rifles. Further, for first batch of Agniveer, the age relaxation will be for 5 years beyond the prescribed upper age limit.
            5. Govt increased maximum entry age from 21 years to 23 years by giving two years relaxation in first year of 'Agnipath Yojana’.

          2. Project of development of ‘Way Finding Application’ was conceptualized as donation from India to UN on occasion of its 75th anniversary in 2020.  Estimated financial implication for development deployment and maintenance of the App is $ 2 Million.
          3. Application will enable users to find their way from point to point within the 21 floors spread across five buildings of UNOG.

        2. Approved development of Phase I of New Greenfield Airport at Dholera, Gujarat at an estimated cost of 1305 crores, to be completed within 48 months. 
          1. Project will be implemented by Dholera International Airport Company Limited (DIACL), a Joint Venture comprising Airports Authority of India, Government of Gujarat and National Industrial Corridor Development and Implementation Trust, holding equity in ratio of 51:33:16.
          2. This Airport is planned for operationalization from 2025-26, with initial passenger traffic to be 3 lakh passengers per annum, expected to grow to 23 lakh over 20 years.

    2. 4th Khelo India Youth Games 2021 Highlights -

      1. While Star India renewed its television deal, Viacom18 bagged digital rights for the tournament in the Indian subcontinent. The two broadcasters will now hold right to broadcast 410 matches for a five-year IPL cycle (2023 to 2027). Value of each IPL match will be Rs 107.5 crore.

    1. China released a new comprehensive geological map of the moon, being called most detailed map of the moon to date. It goes past map released by United States Geological Survey (USGS) Astrogeology Science Centre in 2020, which was released to a scale of 1:5,000,000.
      1. The new geological map of moon released by China is to a scale of 1:2,500,000. It includes 12341 impact craters, 17 rock types, 81 impact basins, and 14 types of structures.
    2. Minister of Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya M. Scindia launched National Air Sport Policy 2022, laying out vision of making India as one of the top sports nations by 2030, by providing a safe, affordable, accessible, enjoyable and sustainable air sports ecosystem in India.

      1. DAVINCI will perform two flybys of Venus before taking a plunge through the layered atmosphere to attempt landing on surface of the planet in 2031.
      2. It will be the first-ever mission to Venus using both spacecraft flybys and a descent probe. During flybys, the spacecraft will take measurements of the clouds and ultraviolet absorption on Venusian day side and also take measurements of the heat emanating from planet’s surface on the night side. 
      3. The mission has been named after the Renaissance artist and scientist Leonardo da Vinci.

    1. In a key RBI Monetary Policy Committee Meet -
      1. RBI hiked Repo Rate by 50 basis points to 4.90 %. Accordingly, Standing Deposit Facility Rate stands adjusted to 4.65% and Marginal Standing Facility rate and Bank Rate to 5.15%.
        1. Earlier, repo rate was increased by 40 basis points, on May 04, 2022. More rate hikes are anticipated by RBI in near future, to contain mounting retail inflation.

        3. Measures to benefit Cooperative Banks -
          1. Increased existing limits on individual housing loans by cooperative banks -
            1. Limits for Tier I /Tier II UCBs shall stand revised from 30 lakh/ 70 lakh to 60 lakh/140 lakh, respectively.
            2. For rural cooperative banks (RCBs), limits increased from 20 to 50 lakh for RCBs with assessed net worth less than 100 crore, and from 30 to 75 lakh for the rest.
            3. These limits were last revised for UCBs in 2011 and for RCBs in 2009.
          2. Urban cooperative banks can now extend doorstep banking services to customers.
        4. To further augment customer convenience  and facilitate recurring payments like subscriptions, insurance premia and education fees of larger value, limit per transcation for e-mandate based recurring payments increased from 5000 to 15000.
        5. Now, credit cards too can be linked with UPI platform, beginning with RuPay cards.

      20. Fintech services Firm Acemoney launched UPI 123Pay payment and wearable ATM cards. UPI 123Pay framework was earlier launched by RBI in March 2022, which allows cashless transactions without smartphones or internet connections using feature phones.       11. Defence Ministry amended regulations related to appointment of Chief of Defence Staff -
        1. As per new rules, government may now consider officers serving as Lt Gen equivalent or General equivalent for appointment of CDS. Officers who have retired in rank of Lt Gen or Gen but have not attained age of 62 years on date of appointment, can also be considered for CDS appointment.
        2. Earlier, a four-star general  from any of the three services was eligible to be appointed as CDS, on the basis of merit-cum-seniority of the military officer.

      2. Provide certainty on open access charges to be levied on Green Energy Open Access Consumers which includes transmission, wheeling, cross-subsidy surcharge and standby charges.
      3. Transparency in approval process of open access application. Approval to be granted in 15 days or else it will be deemed to have been approved.
      4. Tariff for green energy shall be determined separately by the Appropriate Commission.
      5. Consumers will be given the green certificates if they consume green power.

        4. NSM phases -
          1. Phase 1-Plan was to install 6 supercomputers with 30% value additions done in India. Focus on this phase was to create an ecosystem for assembly of system components within the country. Supercomputers were installed at IIT-BHU (Varanasi), Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (Pune), IIT-Kharagpur and Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (Bengaluru).
          2. Phase 2- Second phase which started in April 2021 aimed at manufacturing supercomputers in the country with an indigenous software stack.
          3. Phase 3- Focus is on design and manufacturing in the country. Phase 3, has been initiated in 2021 and is expected to take computing speed to 45 PF. As per plan three system with 3 PF each and one system with 20 PF will be installed at national facility.
      2. Globally -
        1. China has largest number of Supercomputers in top 500 list -173 followed by US-149 and Japan-32. India has so far three supercomputers in the list and includes PARAM Siddhi AI, Pratyush and Mihir.
          1. Prathyush (4 PF) and Mihir (2.8 PF) are supercomputers established at Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM), Pune and National Centre for Medium Range Weather Forecast (NCMRWF), Noida respectively. It was inaugurated in January 2018.
        2. Also, Hewlett Packard Enterprise Frontier, or OLCF-5 is world's first supercomputer, hosted at Oak Ridge Leadership Computing Facility (OLCF) in Tennessee, United States. Its capacity has been measured at 1.102 exaFLOPS (1102 PetaFlops).
        3. Fugaku supercomputer located at RIKEN Centre for Computational Science in Kobe, Japan is world’s 2nd fastest supercomputer, with 442 PF Capacity.

    1. June 3 - World Bicycle Day, declared by United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in 2018. It promotes use of Bicycle for its environmental and health benefits

Social Justice and empowerment Minister Virendra Kumar launched Scheme SHRESHTA (Scheme for residential education for students in High school in Targeted Areas), to benefit SC students those who could not reach for higher quality education, and bring change for betterment of their livelihoods.
      1. SHRESHTA will provide access to high quality residential education to meritorious poor students from Scheduled Caste communities, whose parental annual income is up to 2.5 Lakh per annum, at free of cost from class 9th to class 12th.
      2. Under this, each year a specified number of meritorious SC students (Approx 3000) in States / UTs will be selected through a transparent mechanism of a National Entrance Test for SHRESHTA (NETS), conducted by the National Testing Agency ( NTA ). Selected students are admitted in the Best Private Residential Schools, affiliated by CBSE, in classes 9th and 11th for completion of education till 12th standard.
    3. Indian Navy Ships Nishank and Akshay have been decommissioned, after rendering 32 years of services to the nation.
      1. INS Nishank was commissioned on 12 September 1989, while INS Akshay was commissioned a year later on 10 December 1990 at Poti, Georgia.
    4. First liquid mirror telescope in India and largest in Asia, has been commissioned at Devasthal (Uttarakhand).
      1. It will help surveying sky, by keeping a watch on overhead sky to identify transient or variable objects such as supernovae, gravitational lenses, space debris, and asteroids.
      2. It is Built by astronomers from India, Belgium and Canada, and employs a 4-meter-diameter rotating mirror made up of a thin film of liquid mercury to collect and focus light. It is located at an altitude of 2450 metres at the Devasthal Observatory campus of Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences (ARIES), in Nainital district, Uttarakhand.
    5. Former SBI MD Ashwani Bhatia has been appointed as whole time member at market regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi).

        1. Approved proposal of Ministry of Home Affairs to relax requisite minimum educational qualification from 10th class pass to 8th Class for the recruitment of 400 candidates as Constable (General Duty) in CRPF from 03 districts of South Chattisgarh namely Bijapur, Dantewada and Sukma.
        2. Approved expanding mandate of GeM (Government e-Marketplace) to allow procurement by Cooperatives as buyers on GeM.
          1. GeM was launched in August 2016, to create an open and transparent procurement platform for Government buyers. A Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), named Government e- Marketplace (GeM SPV) was set up as National Public Procurement Portal, in May 2017.
          2. At present, platform is open for procurement by all government buyers: central and state ministries, departments, public sector enterprises, autonomous institutions, local bodies, etc.
          3. Allowing Cooperative Societies now to register on GeM as Buyers will help Cooperatives in getting competitive prices through an open and transparent process.

        1. Lump sum amount will be transferred directly in post office account of beneficiaries upon opening and validation of accounts. A pro-rata amount will be credited upfront, such that corpus for each beneficiary becomes 10 lakhs at time of attaining 18 years age.
        2. Beneficiary will receive monthly stipend once they attain 18 years of age, upto attaining 23 years of age.
        3. They will receive amount of Rs. 10 lakh on attaining 23 years of age.

        1. All children will be enrolled as a beneficiary under Ayushman Bharat Scheme (PM-JAY) with a health insurance cover of Rs. 5 lakhs.
      3. Scholarship -
        1. Scholarship allowance would be 20,000 per child per annum which will comprise monthly allowance of 1,000 per month and Annual academic allowance of Rs. 8,000 to cover school fees, cost of books and uniform, shoes and other educational equipment.
        2. Scholarship will be disbursed through DBT to the school going Children studying in Class 1-12.
