Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) has invited applications for 1352 permanent positions of Computer Operator Grade A, under Uttar Pradesh Police (UP Police). Mode of Recruitment :

Written Examination

Candidates whose applications are found correct will be required to appear for an objective type written examination of 200 marks. The exam will consist of 160 questions with a total duration of 2 hours. It will be conducted using the OMR-based system. Candidates will be required to obtain a minimum of 40% (normalized) marks to qualify.

Computer Typing Test

Candidates qualified in the written exam will be called for a qualifying Computer Typing Test. The required typing speed will be a minimum of 25 words per minute in Hindi and 30 words per minute in English. Candidates will be declared successful upon achieving the aforementioned speeds with 85% accuracy. Hindi typing will be based on the Unicode Inscript keyboard.

Document Verification

Candidates successful in the typing test will be called for Document Verification. The board will decide the number of candidates to be called based on merit and the state's reservation policy.

Final Merit List

Based on the marks/normalized marks obtained by the candidates in the written examination, the board will prepare a selection list according to the order of merit for each category, as per reservation policies. No waiting list will be prepared.

Fee Structure :

Applicable application fee is to be paid online. Fee structure is -

• General / EWS / OBC : Rs 500
• SC / ST : Rs 400

How to Apply :

1. The application process will start with completion of the One Time Registration (OTR) using a valid and unique Email ID and Mobile Number. These details will remain permanently linked with the OTR account.
2. After completing OTR successfully, candidates will log in to the application portal using their Account ID and Password, or through Aadhaar authentication / DigiLocker.
3. Candidates will fill in all personal, educational, and other required details in the application form with due accuracy. All information must match the original documents. The application form must be submitted on or before 15-01-2026.
4. Upon completion of the application form, candidates will upload the required details and make payment of the application fee through the online payment gateway.
5. Candidates will upload a real-time live photograph captured during the application process using a webcam or mobile phone. The photograph must have a clear background, with the face clearly visible and without cap, mask, sunglasses, or any obstruction.
6. Candidates will upload their signature strictly as per the prescribed specifications:
   1. The signature must be written in black ink on white paper.
   2. The signature size must be 50 mm × 20 mm or 140 × 60 pixels.
   3. The file format must be JPG or JPEG.
   4. The file size must be between 30 KB and 50 KB.
   5. The signature must belong to the applicant only.
7. Before final submission, candidates will preview the complete application form and verify all entered details. Candidates will also submit their order of preference for posts along with the application form.
8. After final submission, no modification or correction will be allowed. Submission of multiple applications by the same candidate will result in rejection.
9. Printed copies of the application form will not be required to be sent to the UPPRPB at this stage. Candidates should keep a copy of the submitted application for future reference.

Stage 1: Written Examination

Candidates will be required to secure minimum qualifying marks in the written examination, which are 35% marks in each subject and 40% marks overall. Evaluation will be carried out using normalized scores. There will No negative marking in the written examination.

Stage 2: Physical Standard Test and Document Verification

Candidates who qualify the written examination will be called for Physical Standard Test. Physical measurements will be checked as per prescribed standards and original documents related to eligibility will be verified at this stage.

Stage 3: Computer Typing and Stenography Test

Candidates who qualify the Written Examination and the Physical Standard Test will be required to appear in the Computer Typing Test as per terms mentioned above. Typing / Stenography test will be qualifying in nature.

Stage 4: Final Merit List

The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of the total marks obtained in the written examination, using normalized scores. Merit will be prepared category-wise in accordance with applicable reservation rules. Candidates shortlisted in the merit list will be subjected to document verification and medical examination before final selection.

Notably, there will be no Physical Efficiency Test (PET) under this recruitment drive.

Physical Standards for Male Candidates

• Height:
  • General / OBC / SC male candidates: Minimum 168 cm
  • ST male candidates: Minimum 160 cm
• Chest (unexpanded / expanded):
  • General / OBC / SC: 79 cm (minimum) with a minimum expansion of 5 cm
  • ST: 77 cm (minimum) with a minimum expansion of 5 cm

Physical Standards for Female Candidates

• Height:
  • General / OBC / SC female candidates: Minimum 152 cm
  • ST female candidates: Minimum 147 cm
• Weight:
  • Minimum weight: 40 kg

Stage 3: Physical Efficiency Test

Candidates passing the DV & PST will be called for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET). It will be qualifying in nature and no marks will be awarded for this stage.

Candidates who fail to complete the prescribed distance within the specified time will be declared unsuccessful and will not be considered for further stages.

Stage 4: Final Merit List

After qualifying the PET, the board will prepare the final merit list based on merit (written examination only), reservation norms, and preferences submitted by the candidates. No waiting list will be formed. In case of candidates with same merit, additional qualifications (as mentioned above) shall be the separation criteria.
