UP Police Recruitment 2026 Homeguard 41424 Posts Online Application

Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment & Promotion Board (UPPRPB) is accepting online applications for 41424 regular posts of Homeguard under UP Police. Candidates must submit applications before 17-12-2025 after ensuring eligibility requirements are met.

  • Ex-Servicemen of UP State are eligible for a maximum age relaxation of 3 years (after deducting their service period from their actual age, the resultant age must not exceed 33 years as on 01.07.2025).
  • Nature of Post: Homeguard Enrollment (Not a permanent government service, duty is assigned as needed).

  • Physical Efficiency Test (PET) - Running:
    • Male Candidates: 4.8 km run in a maximum of 28 minutes.
    • Female Candidates: 2.4 km run in a maximum of 16 minutes.
Preferential Qualifications (for additional marks)
  • NCC "C" Certificate (03 Marks), "B" Certificate (02 Marks), "A" Certificate (01 Mark).
  • "Bharat Scout and Guide" Certificate (01 Mark).
  • "Aapda Mitra Training" Certificate from UPSDMA (03 Marks).
  • Valid Driving Licence for four-wheelers (01 Mark).
  • Note: If an applicant has more than one Preferential Qualification, they will only be awarded marks for the one carrying the highest mark.

Mode of Recruitment :

Selection process for the 41,424 Homeguard vacancies involves multiple mandatory stages to ensure candidates meet all required standards. The stages are: Written Examination, Document Verification & Physical Standard Test (DVPST), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), and final medical examination/character verification.

Written Examination

Candidates who are eligible will first appear for a Written Examination, which is objective and OMR-based. The exam is mandatory for all applicants, and a district-wise merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained in this test, along with any preferential marks.

Qualifying Criteria Candidates scoring less than 25% marks will not be considered for further enrollment stages.

Document Verification and Physical Standard Test (DVPST)

Candidates shortlisted based on the merit list from the Written Examination will be called for Document Verification (DV) and the Physical Standard Test (PST). The DVPST is conducted by a district-level committee.

  • Document Verification: All original documents (educational, domicile, age proof, caste certificates, etc.) are verified. Any error or ineligibility found leads to immediate disqualification.
  • Physical Standard Test (PST) / Measurement (PMT): Physical measurements for Height, Chest (for males), and Weight (for females) are checked against the specified eligibility criteria.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

Candidates who clear the PST will proceed to the Physical Efficiency Test (PET), which is of a qualifying nature. It involves a running test that must be completed within the maximum time limit specified as under .

Merit List, Medical Examination, and Enrollment

The final merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the Written Examination and any awarded Preferential Marks (for NCC, Scouts/Guides, Driving Licence, etc.).

  • Candidates found suitable on the merit list will undergo a Medical Examination and Character Verification conducted by the Commandant General Homeguards or District Commandant.
  • Final Enrollment will be done only after a candidate is found medically and physically fit and their character is verified.
  • Note: No waiting list will be prepared for the enrollment.

Fee Structure :

The application fee for the UP Homeguard Enrollment is to be paid online and varies by category. For General, OBC (Other Backward Class), and EWS (Economically Weaker Section) candidates, the application fee is ₹400. For candidates belonging to the SC (Scheduled Caste) and ST (Scheduled Tribe) categories, the application fee is ₹300.

Candidates eligible for the concerned posts in Uttar Pradesh Police (UP Police) are encouraged to submit their applications online on or before 17-12-2025. Printed copies are not required at this stage. A copy may be retained for future reference.
