Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), a Central Armed Police Force under the Ministry of Home Affairs, has invited applications for 827 vacancies for Constable posts in various trades such as Veterinary, Driver, Tradesmen and more. The application process is online, and the last date to apply is 30 days from the publication in Employment News (21-03-2026 edition).

Dates to Consider:
Online application forms will be accepted up to 20-04-2026 (within 30 days from the date of publication in Employment News). The notification has been published in the Employment News dated March 21–26, 2026 edition. Exact dates for applying online may vary and will be updated once the online application portal is activated.
Mode of Recruitment :
The selection process will consist of Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST), followed by a Written Examination, Documentation, Skill Test, and Detailed Medical Examination (DME)/Review Medical Examination (RME).
Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
The Physical Efficiency Test will be qualifying in nature. Male candidates will be required to complete a 4.8 km race in 24 minutes, while female candidates must complete a 2.4 km race in 18 minutes. Ex-servicemen are exempted from PET.
Physical Standard Test (PST)
Candidates who qualify the PET will be screened for height and chest measurements. PST will also be qualifying in nature. Required measurements are as follows:

Written Examination
PET & PST qualified candidates will be called for a written test. It will be an objective type paper of 2 hours duration, consisting of 100 questions from General Knowledge, Mathematics, Reasoning, and General English/Hindi.
Minimum qualifying marks: 50% for UR, EWS, OBC, and Ex-Servicemen, and 40% for SC & ST candidates. There will be no negative marking.
Candidates up to 20 times the number of vacancies (category-wise) will be shortlisted for the next stage.
Documentation and Skill Test
Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification, where they must produce original documents. After that, a Skill Test of 50 marks will be conducted. It is qualifying in nature, and candidates must secure at least 60% marks. Skill test marks will not be included in the final merit.
Detailed Medical Examination (DME) / Review Medical Examination (RME)
Candidates up to 3 times the number of vacancies will be called for DME. Unfit candidates may apply for Review Medical Examination (RME). Final selection will be based on written exam merit among medically fit candidates. No waiting list will be prepared.
Tie-Breaking Rules
- If candidates score equal marks, the older candidate will be ranked higher.
- If the date of birth is also the same, ranking will be decided based on alphabetical order of names.
Fee Structure :
Applicable application fee is to be paid online. Fee structure is -
- UR / EWS / OBC: Rs. 100/- (Non-refundable), to be paid through Net Banking / Credit Card / Debit Card / UPI
- SC / ST / Ex-Serviceman / Female: Exempted from payment of examination fee
How to Apply :
The detailed step-by-step process to apply for SSB Constable Recruitment 2026 is given below:
- Part-I: Fill Registration Details
- Select the post and fill in personal details such as Name, Father's Name, Mother's Name, Date of Birth, Gender, Nationality, Religion, Marital Status, and Category.
- Enter Aadhaar Number or any other Identity Card details, along with one visible identification mark.
- Provide Mobile Number and Email ID for communication.
- Fill in Educational Qualification details (10th/ITI/Diploma), including Board, Roll Number, Passing Year, and Certificate Number.
- After checking the details, click on Proceed. A preview will be shown and changes can be made until the last date.
- Part-II: Upload Photograph and Signature
- Upload photograph and signature in the required format.
- Photograph: Passport-size photo (4 KB to 12 KB, 100×120 pixels).
- Signature: Signature on white paper using blue/black ink (4 KB to 12 KB, 140×60 pixels).
- After uploading and submission, Registration Number and Post Applied For will be displayed for future use.
- Upload photograph and signature in the required format.
- Part-III: Payment of Fee
- Login using Registration Number and Password and proceed to ‘Make Payment’.
- UR, EWS, and OBC male candidates need to pay ₹100 through Net Banking, Debit/Credit Card, or Challan.
- SC, ST, Ex-servicemen, and Female candidates are exempted. The application is considered submitted after completing the form and paying the fee.
- Correction and Final Print
- Corrections can be made in the application until the last date of online application. No changes will be allowed afterwards.
- No need to send any printout or documents to SSB by post at this stage.
