Indian Navy is inviting applications from eligible unmarried men and women for grant of Short Service Commission for the course commencing January 2027 at Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala. Mode of Recruitment :
The selection process will consist of Application Shortlisting, SSB Interview, Medical Examination, and Merit List preparation.
Shortlisting of Application
Application shortlisting will be based on normalized marks obtained by candidates in the qualifying degree. For BE/B.Tech candidates (completed or in final year), marks obtained up to the fifth semester will be considered. For Post-Graduate candidates (MSc, MCA, MBA, M.Tech), marks from all semesters will be considered, while final year students will be evaluated based on pre-final year performance.
Notably, NCC ‘C’ certificate holders will be given a 5% relaxation in cut-off marks for shortlisting for the SSB interview, provided they hold an NCC ‘C’ certificate with a minimum ‘B’ grade, have not served for two academic years in the Senior Division (Naval/Army/Air Wing), and the certificate is not dated prior to 01-01-2024.
SSB Interview
Shortlisted candidates will be informed about their SSB interview through email or SMS. Candidates will be required to download the call-up letter after receiving intimation from Naval Headquarters. The selection process will involve various tests conducted at the SSB center, and no change of SSB center will be permitted.
Medical Examination
Candidates who clear the SSB interview will undergo a medical examination. Only those declared medically fit will be eligible to proceed to the final appointment stage.
Merit List
The final merit list will be prepared based on SSB marks for all entries, subject to the availability of vacancies and medical clearance. Candidates selected in the final merit list will be required to submit proof of completing their qualifying degree with a minimum of 60% marks.
Final year candidates selected in the final merit list will be required to submit the proof of completing the qualifying degree with minimum 60% marks by sending an email at the address officer@navy.gov.in. Candidates failing to meet the criteria will not be permitted to join the Academy.

- Candidates must register and fill in all application details carefully on the Join Indian Navy portal. Particulars entered must match the Matriculation Certificate.
- A valid e-mail address and mobile number are mandatory for completing the application.
- Candidates must scan and upload original documents in JPG/TIFF format, including mark sheets (up to 5th semester for BE/B.Tech or 7th semester for integrated courses), date of birth proof, CGPA conversion formula, and a recent passport-size color photograph.
- Other documents such as NCC 'C' certificate or Merchant Navy certificate (if applicable) must also be uploaded.
