Mode of Recruitment :
The selection of candidates will be based on their performance in Stage-I, II, III, and IV.
- Stage-I: Computer Based Online Examination. Based on performance in the Computer Based Online Examination and the handling capacity of ICG Recruitment Centres, candidates will be shortlisted for Stage-II.
- Stage-II: Assessment Test, Physical Fitness Test, and Document Verification.
- Stage-III: Basic Identity Checks and Document Verification, along with Pre-Enrolment Medicals at INS Chilka.
- Stage-IV: The candidates will undergo training at INS Chilka.

Selection of Assistant Commandants will be based on the performance of candidates across various stages (I–V) of the examination.
Stage-I Coast Guard Common Admission Test(CGCAT) : CGCAT will consist of 100 questions with 2 hours duration.
Stage-II : Preliminary Selection Board (PSB)
Stage-III: Final Selection Board (FSB)
Stage-IV (Medical Examination)
Fee Structure :
Application fee of Rs 300/- is to be paid online using debit card, credit card or net banking.
SC/ST candidates are exempted from payment of fee.
