Age Limit & Relaxation

Salary Details
  • Stipend during training: ₹ 56,100 per month.
  • Post-commissioning: Fixed at Level 10 of Pay Matrix (₹ 56,100 - ₹ 1,77,500) plus allowances. Initial annual CTC will be 17-18 Lakh, with approx 1.3 Lakh gross inhand salary.

Mode of Recruitment :

The selection process will consist of mentioned stages - Shortlisting of Applications, SSB Interview (Stage I & Stage II), Medical Examination, and preparation of final Merit List.

Shortlisting of Applications

No written examination will be conducted for this entry. The competent authority will shortlist applicants on the basis of marks obtained in the engineering / required graduation degree up to the final year, and will allot selection centres. Shortlisted candidates will be given an option to select SSB dates suitable for them, for a period of two weeks during March 2026. Category-wise and trade-wise cut-off marks will be published in the 1st week of March 2026.

SSB Interview

Shortlisted candidates will be called for a five-day interview process at Selection Centres located in Allahabad (UP), Bhopal (MP), Bangalore (Karnataka), and Jalandhar (Punjab). The interview will be conducted in two stages:

Medical Examination

Candidates who are recommended by the SSB will undergo a medical examination by a Board of Service Medical Officers. Only those candidates who are declared medically fit will be considered for the final merit list.

Merit List

A merit list will be prepared engineering stream-wise based on the marks obtained by the candidate at the SSB interview. Joining letters for 49 weeks long training at Pre-Commissioning Training Academy (PCTA) will be issued based on the merit position, medical fitness, and availability of vacancies. Upon completion of pre-commission training, candidates will be awarded a Postgraduate Diploma in Defence Management and Strategic Studies.

Before joining the Training Academy, Candidates must qualify the following minimum physical standards :
