Indian Army has invited online applications for Agniveer Recruitment 2026, which aims to fill soldier vacancies across various trades and cadres. The last date to submit the online application is 01-04-2026. Before applying, candidates must ensure that they satisfy the eligibility criteria regarding age, required qualifications, and other parameters.
The Agnipath Scheme was launched in 2022, under which selected candidates serve in the Indian Army for a period of 4 years. After completion of the tenure, 25% of candidates will be permanently retained in the Indian Army under the regular soldier cadre.

As per Special Physical Standards, Indian Gorkhas require a minimum height of 157 cm, while candidates from Recognised Tribal Areas must have a minimum height of 162 cm. For both categories, the chest should be 77 cm with 5 cm expansion, and weight will be as per the Army Medical Standards BMI Chart.
Additionally, Outstanding Sportsmen (International/National/State level or those who represented District/School/College/University championships) are given relaxation of 2 cm in height, 3 cm in chest, and 5 kg in weight.

Mode of Recruitment :
The selection process will consist of Phase I (Online Computer Based Common Entrance Examination) and Phase II (Recruitment Rally).
Phase I - Online Common Entrance Examination (CEE)
Candidates will appear for the Online Computer Based Test at various designated centers. The examination will be objective type with Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). Based on performance in the Online CEE, candidates will be shortlisted for Phase II.
The CEE will be conducted in 13 languages: English, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Punjabi, Odiya, Bengali, Urdu, Gujarati, Marathi, and Assamese.
The number of candidates shortlisted for Phase II will be based on the cutoff marks to be decided later. As per the category of application, candidates will be required to answer either 50 questions in one hour or 100 questions in two hours. There will be no negative marking for incorrect or unattempted questions.
For the Agniveer Clerk/SKT category, a typing test will also be conducted during Phase I. Candidates must have an English typing speed of 30 words per minute (WPM).
Phase II - Recruitment Rally
Shortlisted candidates will be called for the Recruitment Rally at a specified venue. This phase will include Physical Fitness Tests, Physical Measurement Tests, and a Medical Examination.
Candidates must bring all original documents for verification. A separate admit card for Phase II will be issued and must be carried to the rally site along with mentioned docs ( in original alongwith two attested photocopies) :

After clearing the PET, a Detailed Physical Standards Test (DPST) will be conducted as per the prescribed medical standards.
Medical Examination
- Medical examination of candidates qualifying PFT & PMT (Height, Weight, Chest) will be conducted by the Army Medical Team at the rally site as per Army medical standards.
- Underweight or overweight candidates will continue in the recruitment process and will be screened again for weight by the medical team.
- Candidates found medically unfit for weight criteria will be given 21 days to report for Review Medical at the nearest Military/Command/Base Hospital.
- Candidates declared unfit at the rally site will get a specialist review opportunity at the designated hospital within 21 days.
- If 270 days or more lapse between rally medical and dispatch, medical examination will be conducted again.

Application fee of Rs 250 is to be paid online, using available payment modes integrated with the application form..
How to Apply :
Candidates can apply online for the Army Agniveer Bharti 2026 by following the steps given below:
- Visit the official portal and log in to check your eligibility status and create your profile. Candidates must have an active email ID and mobile number for further communication.
- During registration, enter your highest educational qualification and fill in the required details as per the category applied for.
- An examination fee of Rs. 250 must be paid online by the candidate.
- Candidates must mandatorily and accurately provide:
- Height (up to the millimeter) as per category- and region-based physical measurement standards.
- Five choices for the examination centre.
- Aadhaar number.
- Latest photograph.
- A category-wise practice facility is available for the online Common Entrance Exam. Candidates are advised to practice at least once before appearing for the actual exam.
- There is no requirement to print and send the application at this stage. However, candidates may keep a copy for future reference.
