Avadi (Chennai) based Heavy Vehicles Factory (HVF) has invited online applications for engagement of Apprentices for 1 year, on contract basis for a total of 450 training positions, with the last date to apply being 20-04-2026. These posts are for eligible Graduate & Diploma holders (passed during 2022, 2023, 2024 & 2025), hailing from Tamilnadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhara Pradesh, Telangana and Pudhucherry.

This apprenticeship training will enable selected candidates to undergo practical training and skill development in relevant fields. It will help them gain valuable hands-on experience and also enhance future employment prospects in related fields.

 Full-time Diploma in Engineering/Technology in relevant discipline from a recognized State Board/University. Rs.16200/- per month
Non-Engineering Graduate Apprentices Total: 250

  • BCA – 75
  • BA / B.Sc / BBA / BBM – 75
 Full-time Degree in Arts/Science/Commerce/Humanities such as BA, B.Sc, B.Com, BBA, BBM, BCA etc. from a UGC recognized University. Rs.18000/- per month

Notes

  • Contract-based Apprenticeship for a period of 01 Year.
  • Age limit will be followed as per Govt Apprenticeship Rules.

Other Eligibility Conditions

  • Only candidates who passed in 2022, 2023, 2024 & 2025 are eligible.
  • Candidates with Distance/Correspondence/PG qualifications are not eligible.
  • Only Applicants from Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Puducherry are eligible.
  • Candidates who have already undergone or are currently undergoing apprenticeship or having one year or more experience are not eligible.

Mode of Recruitment :

Board of Apprenticeship Training (Southern Region) will prepare the list of shortlisted candidates based on the percentage of marks obtained in the prescribed qualifying examination relevant to their respective discipline. Shortlisted candidates will be informed through their registered email IDs and will be required to appear for document verification at Heavy Vehicles Factory, Avadi, on the scheduled dates (May 6–8, 2026).

List of shortlisted candidates will also be published at NATS portal (https://nats.education.gov.in), at Home page -> Regional Events -> BOAT (Southern Region) -> Apprenticeship News.

Fee Structure :

No Application fee is to be paid for this recruitment drive.

How to Apply :

To apply for Heavy Vehicles Factory Avadi apprenticeship (USER ID : STNTLC000004), candidates must follow the steps based on their enrollment category on the NATS portal.

  • Category A – Already enrolled on old NATS portal (www.mhrdnats.gov.in):
    1. Open NATS portal and click on Student login.
    2. If password is not available, use Forgot Password and reset via registered email.
    3. Login using email ID and password.
    4. Go to “Apply against advertised vacancies”.
    5. Search “HEAVY VEHICLES FACTORY”. Click Apply.
    6. Status will appear as “applied”.
    7. A unique Enrollment number (12 digit) for each student will be generated.
  • Category B – Already enrolled on new NATS portal (www.nats.education.gov.in):
    1. Login using email ID and password.
    2. Go to “Apply against advertised vacancies”.
    3. Search “HEAVY VEHICLES FACTORY”.
    4. Click Apply.
    5. Status will appear as “applied”.
  • Category C – First time enrollment:
    1. Open NATS portal.
    2. Click Student → Student Register.
    3. Complete the application form.
    4. 12-digit Enrollment Number will be generated.
    5. Login using email ID and password.
    6. Go to “Apply against advertised vacancies”.
    7. Search “HEAVY VEHICLES FACTORY”.
    8. Click Apply.
    9. Status will appear as “applied”.
  • Important Instructions:
    • Upload required qualification documents (Degree/Diploma/Marksheet).
    • Enter percentage of marks correctly in the portal.
    • If percentage/CGPA conversion is not filled, application will not be considered.
    • No need to send printed application to Heavy Vehicles Factory Avadi. Keep a copy for future reference.
