Mode of Recruitment :

The selection process will consist of Written Test, Physical Efficiency Test and Medical Examination followed by Physical Standard Test, and Oral / Viva-Voce.

Written Test

The written test will be conducted for all eligible candidates and will be the first stage of the selection process. Biometric verification will be carried out before appearing in the written examination.

Physical Efficiency Test and Medical Examination

Candidates shortlisted in the written test will be called for the Physical Efficiency Test at the rate of five times the number of vacancies category-wise. Biometric verification will again be conducted during this stage. Candidates will be medically examined before proceeding to the Physical Standard Test.

The race component of the Physical Efficiency Test will be evaluated based on the time taken, and marks will be awarded as per prescribed time-based criteria mentioned below.

Physical Standard Test

The Physical Standard Test will be conducted after qualifying the medical examination and PET. Height and chest measurements will be verified as per prescribed standards. This stage will be qualifying in nature and will not carry any marks.

Oral / Viva-Voce

Mode of Recruitment :

The selection process will be conducted in mentioned stages - Physical Efficiency Test, Medical Examination, Physical Standard Test, Written Test, and Oral/Viva-Voce.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

PET will be conducted for all applicants and will include race and long jump, while chin up will be evaluated only for male applicants of Constable (AB). Marks will be awarded as per performance.

Written Test

After PET & PST, Written Test will be conducted, which wil contain 100 MCQs of class IX–X level carrying 50 marks with no negative marking, covering Arithmetic, General English, Logical Reasoning, Assam’s History/Geography/Polity/Economy, and General Awareness.

Oral/Viva-Voce

The Oral/Viva-Voce will carry 5 marks and will be attended by applicants shortlisted based on earlier stages.
