NIT Silchar Admission 2025 Institute Post Doctoral Fellowship Online Application
National Institute of Technology Silchar, Silchar 788010, Assam, invites applications for the Institute Post Doctoral Fellowship (IPDF) programme for the Winter Session 2025. The IPDF scheme offers a structured opportunity for early career researchers to pursue independent research under the guidance of NIT Silchar faculty in diverse areas of engineering, science, mathematics and management.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Age: max 35 years age. For candidates from teaching institutions recognized by AICTE or UGC, or those sponsored by DSIR recognized industrial organizations, the upper age limit is 40 years.
- Qualification: The candidate must hold a Ph D degree in the relevant discipline and must have a minimum of three research publications in peer reviewed SCI, SCIE or SSCI indexed journals.
- Academic standard: All degrees obtained by the candidate must be in first class. At least one degree should be from an IIT, NIT, government funded technical institute or a centrally funded technical institute, or from an institute ranked within 100 by NIRF.

Admission Procedure:
Admission to the IPDF programme is based on an online application, submission of a research proposal endorsed by a faculty mentor at NIT Silchar, and a selection interview. Shortlisting will be carried out on the basis of academic record, research publications, quality of the proposal and relevance of expertise. Shortlisted applicants will be called for interview on the scheduled date. Final selection is subject to verification of documents and fulfillment of institute rules.
Application Fee :
A non refundable processing fee must be paid online using the State Bank Collect facility. The fee structure is as shown:
- Open and OBC candidates: Rupees 1,000.
- SC, ST and PwD candidates: Rupees 500.
