NIT Raipur Admission 2025 MTech Applied Geology Course Online Application
National Institute of Technology (NIT) Raipur invites applications for admission to the M.Tech programme in Applied Geology for the academic session 2025-2026. This full-time postgraduate programme is designed to provide advanced knowledge and technical skills in areas such as mineral exploration, hydrogeology, environmental geology, and geoinformatics. The course offers both theoretical instruction and practical training through fieldwork and laboratory sessions, guided by experienced faculty members.
Interested candidates must fill the digitally-enabled application form and submit it via e-mail along with required documents and proof of fee payment. Selection will be based on a written entrance examination followed by an interview, and final merit will be determined by combining test performance with academic scores in the qualifying degree.
Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates seeking admission must have passed a Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering/Technology from a recognised university, with geology as one subject.

Admission Procedure:
Admission is granted based on performance in a written entrance test (100 marks, MCQ format, 1-hour duration) followed by an interview. Shortlisted candidates are notified via the Institute website (no individual emails). The final merit list is compiled with 70% weightage for entrance test marks and 30% for the candidate’s Bachelor’s degree percentage/CPI. In the event of a tie, the candidate with higher test marks, stronger geological subject combination, or older age is given preference.
Application Fee :
Application fee (non-refundable): INR 1,000 for OC/OBC/EWS; INR 500 for SC/ST.How to Apply :
To apply for the M.Tech Applied Geology programme at NIT Raipur, candidates must digitally fill the PDF form, saving it as “name_mobileNumber.pdf”. Along with the form, applicants need to prepare a single merged PDF file containing the Xth class certificate (as proof of date of birth), all semester marksheets of the qualifying degree, category certificate (if applicable, issued on or after 01/04/2025 in the prescribed format), and proof of application fee payment. Additionally, one passport-size colour photograph must be attached as a separate image file.
After completing the form, candidates must send an email to mtechag@nitrr.ac.in with the subject line “Application for M. Tech. Applied Geology 2025”, attaching the filled application form (PDF), the photograph, and the merged documents PDF. The complete application must be submitted via email on or before 11-07-2025.
