INST Mohali Admission 2025 PhD Programme Application Form
Institute of Nano Science and Technology (INST), Mohali invites applications for admission to the Ph.D. Program beginning in January 2026. Candidates with an independent fellowship such as CSIR, UGC-JRF or equivalent are encouraged to apply. The program is offered in three academic units: Energy and Environment, Quantum Materials and Devices, and Chemical Biology. Selected students will be registered in the Ph.D. Program of the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Mohali, and the degree will be awarded by IISER Mohali. Applications are open for students from physical sciences, chemical sciences, biological sciences, pharmaceutical sciences, agricultural sciences, and other allied disciplines.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicants must hold an M.Sc., M.Pharm. or M.Tech. degree in Basic or Applied Sciences, Engineering or related fields. Final year students may also apply if they can provide the degree before joining.
- Candidates should have qualified at least one national level examination such as CSIR/UGC-NET, ICMR-JRF, DBT-JRF or equivalent, or should be funded under a project as per INST rules.

Admission Procedure:
The admission process includes shortlisting based on eligibility followed by an interview. The date and mode of interview will be communicated to applicants through email, and the list of shortlisted candidates will also be issued.
Application Fee :
Application fees are to be paid online and details of the transaction must be included in the application. Candidates may apply for multiple units, but each unit requires a separate application with documents and proof of fee payment.

How to Apply :
Applicants must submit a hard copy of the application form, affixed with a recent passport-size photograph, along with self-attested documents supporting age, educational qualifications, category and experience (if any). The application should be addressed to The Director, Institute of Nano Science and Technology, Knowledge City, Sector 81, Mohali, Punjab – 140306. The envelope must be superscribed with "Application for the Ph.D. Program – January 2026".
Separate applications should be submitted if a candidate wishes to apply to more than one unit..
