Intro : Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University (formerly known as Garhwal University) is a central govt university in Srinagar town in Pauri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand. It is a residential cum affiliating with jurisdiction over Garhwal district of region.
University was established in 1973 as Garhwal University and renamed Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University in 1989. Later, in 2009 the University was established as a central university.
