Intro : Central Tasar Research and Training Institute, referred to as CTR & TI, Ranchi was established in 1964 under the aegis of Central Silk Board, to conduct R & D to cater to needs of Tasar silk Industry (both tropical and temperate), a tribal based rural enterprise in country. With its network of Six Regional stations (RSRS), three P4-TBS and three Research Extension Centres (REC), one Raw Material Bank at Chaibasa, the Institute provides the state-of-the-art technological know-how to the command states, both under tropical and temperate tasar sector.
