Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay has announced the details for the Common Entrance Examination for admission to the Master of Design (MDes) and PhD programs for the academic session 2025. Interested candidates are required to submit their application forms through the online mode.
Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates should have completed a degree/diploma/post graduate degree programme of minimum Three years (after 10+2 level) or must be appearing for the final examination of such a program by July 2025, or must have passed the GD Arts diploma program (10+5 level) by July 2025.Important Dates:

The examination will consist of two parts: Part A and Part B, and candidates are required to attempt questions from both sections. Part A will contain objective questions, which will be divided into three types: Numerical Answer Type (NAT), Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), and Multiple Select Questions (MSQ). The answers for Part A must be submitted on the computer. This section will focus on design aptitude questions, evaluating various skills such as visual and spatial ability, environmental and social awareness, analytical and logical reasoning, language proficiency, observation, and design sensitivity. Part B will consist of five questions designed to assess the candidate's design, drawing, and writing skills. The questions for this section will be displayed on the computer screen, but the answers must be written in the answer booklet provided by the invigilator (not on the computer).Application Fee :
Application fee is Rs. 2,000/- for women, SC/ST, and PwD candidates, while it is Rs. 4,000/- for all other candidates. The fee should be paid online using a debit card, credit card, or through net banking.How to Apply :
Eligible and interested candidates may apply online. Candidates read the instructions and procedure for online submission of the application form carefully. Candidates are required to upload their photograph, signature, and qualification certificates in the appropriate place. A copy of the filled-in application form must be kept for future use.Related :
